Cursillo

Cursillo is an abbreviation of Cursillos de Cristiandad, short course of Christianity. The cursillo focuses on showing Christian lay people how to become effective leaders over the course of a three-day weekend. The weekend includes fifteen talks, some given by priests and some by lay people. The major emphasis of the weekend is to ask participants to take what they have learned back into the world. Participants experience the joy of being part of a Christian community in our parish and encourage growth. “Make a friend, be a friend, and bring a friend to Christ” is the motto.

Small Christian Communities

The primary purpose of gathering into small groups is faith sharing. This particular process of faith sharing includes praying together, reflecting on Scripture, and sharing personal faith stories. While Scripture is central to the sharing, this is not Scripture study. Faith sharing is about growing in the Lord and supporting each other in living out the faith on a daily basis.

There are groups of Small Christian Communities which meet on a regular basis. If you are interested in participating in a group or would like to start one, please contact Sharon Aeria.
